When we first arrive at STUST, everything feels new and sometimes overwhelming. What really helps is having someone who understands what we're going through!

That's why the school has a Peer Mentor System, where senior students from our own countries become teaching assistants (TAs) to help us adjust. Since they've already learned Chinese and know the culture, they can guide us through Chinese classes and campus life, answer our questions, and support us academically. It really shows how much STUST cares about helping us succeed.

Starting out in a new country can be tough with language and cultural differences, but with our mentors by our side, we never feel alone. They share their own experiences and help us understand our courses better. Through one-on-one chats and group sessions, we build friendships and support each other, creating a friendly and welcoming community.

One TA from the Business College, Mr. Huang, said, "When I was new, my mentors helped me a lot. Now, I'm happy to be a TA and support others, sharing stories about our hometowns and cultures. It feels great to help others grow!"

More than mentors, they are our teammates on this learning adventure! STUST keeps improving these support systems to make sure every international student feels at home, learns well, and enjoys campus life. With this friendly environment, we can all grow and succeed together!
