In 2023, Southern Taiwan University of
Science and Technology recruited a total of 25 students from 4 colleges
(College of Engineering, College of Business, College of Humanities and Social
Sciences, and College of Digital Design) to serve as international
administrative support personnel. These students participated in various
international activities, such as serving as international student buddies to
help international students adapt to campus life, assisting in the holding of
international conferences, translating foreign language documents, tutoring
Chinese language students, and designing internationalization publicity
materials.
Through the feedback of the participating students, it is found that
through participating in the program, they have accumulated valuable international
exchange experience, improved their language skills, deepened their
cross-cultural communication skills, and broadened their international perspectives。For instance, several
students were invited to take part in an international conference, where they
learned and understood all the details from the preliminary preparation to the
end of an international conference. During the conference, they had the
opportunity to interact with experts and scholars from all over the world.
Student Ren from the Department of International Business said that she is very
happy to be a member of the international student buddy program on campus. She
