Building Global Talent: STUST Participates in Taiwan-Japan Education Fair
Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST) recently participated in the 2025 Taiwan-Japan Talent Development Symposium and Education Fair in Kumamoto, Japan, organized by the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET).
The STUST delegation was led by Vice President Prof. Te-Kuang Chou, accompanied by Prof. Ruey-Ching Twu, Director of the Department of Semiconductor and Electro-Optical Engineering and the Semiconductor Center, and Associate Professor Wei-Chen Yang from the Department of International Business. Their participation showcased STUST's strengths in Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductor technology, and international collaboration.
During the symposium, Vice President Chou delivered a presentation highlighting STUST's development strategies in AI and semiconductors, interdisciplinary curriculum design, industry-academia collaboration, and achievements in international partnerships. The presentation demonstrated STUST's commitment to cultivating highly skilled, industry-ready professionals with both practical expertise and global perspectives, earning strong interest and positive feedback from Japanese participants.
STUST currently maintains partnerships with 34 Japanese sister universities and actively promotes a wide range of collaborative initiatives, including joint research projects, student exchange programs, dual-degree opportunities, faculty exchanges, and industry internships. Each year, STUST students gain valuable international experience through study and internship opportunities in Japan, while many Japanese students come to STUST to study Mandarin and participate in academic and cultural exchange activities.
Looking ahead, STUST will continue to strengthen its partnerships with Japanese universities and research institutions, fostering global talent development, expanding international collaboration, and enhancing students' competitiveness in an increasingly interconnected world.
