Do I have to join Taiwan's NHI? How do I apply?

依《全民健康保險法》規定，外籍學生在臺灣居留滿 6 個月後，必須參加全民健康保險。

According to the National Health Insurance Act, international students who have stayed in Taiwan for more than 6 months must join the NHI by law.

請準備居留證正反面影本繳交至 L305 OIA 辦公室，學校承辦人會協助您處理。 Please prepare a copy of your ARC (front and back) and submit it to the L305 OIA office.

健保費是多少？
要怎麼繳交？

How much is the NHI fee? How do I pay it?

學生的健保費每月約 NTD 826（依健保署公告為準）。

The NHI fee for students is about NTD 826 per month (subject to official announcements).

學校會代收，可與學雜費一起繳交。 The school will collect it, usually together with your tuition fees.
若對金額或繳費方式有疑問，請與承辦人聯絡。 If you have any questions, please contact the staff in charge.

拿到健保卡後要怎麼使用？

How do I use my NHI card?

就醫必備：健保卡是您在臺灣看病的醫療證件，請隨身攜帶。 Required for medical visits: Your NHI card is your medical ID in Taiwan.
使用範圍：可在合約醫療院所（診所、醫院）使用，就醫或領藥都需出示。 Where to use: Present it when visiting contracted clinics or hospitals.
自付額：就醫仍需支付掛號費、部分負擔、藥費等。 Co-payment: You still need to pay registration fees and partial charges.
遺失或損壞：請盡速攜帶居留證到健保署或服務櫃檯補辦。 Lost or damaged: Please bring your ARC to the NHI office for replacement.

我打工的薪資單被扣了健保費，該怎麼辦？

My salary slip shows a deduction for NHI. What should I do?

請與雇主確認，並提供投保證明給學校承辦人，我們會協助您處理。 Please check with your employer and provide your insurance certificate to the school coordinator.

我要畢業了但想留在臺灣找工作，健保可以繼續在學校嗎？

I'm graduating but want to stay in Taiwan. Can I keep my NHI under the school?

畢業後，學生身分即結束，學校無法繼續作為投保單位。

After graduation, your student status ends, so the school cannot continue as your insurance unit.

有工作時，由新雇主負責投保。 If you get a job, your new employer must cover your NHI.
暫時沒工作，可到戶政或區公所申請改由鄉（鎮、市、區）公所投保。 If job-hunting, you can apply to change your insurance unit to your local district office.

我要畢業並返國就業，健保卡可以丟棄嗎？

I'm graduating and going back home. Can I throw away my NHI card?

畢業返國後，學校會為您辦理退保，但健保卡請勿丟棄！

After graduation, the school will help you terminate the insurance, but do not throw away your NHI card!

未來若再來臺灣（繼續升學或工作），可直接使用原卡，較便利。 If you return to Taiwan in the future, you can reuse the same card.
若確定不會再使用，可親自到健保署辦理註銷或歸還，但一般建議自行保留。 If you're sure you won't use it again, you can cancel it at the NHI office, but keeping it is recommended.

我開始在校外打工，健保會自動轉為雇主投保嗎？我需要通知學校嗎？

I've started a part-time job off campus. Will my NHI automatically switch to my employer? Do I need to notify the school?

雇主為您辦理健保加保，學校並不會自動收到雇主的加保通知。

Once your employer enrolls you in the NHI, the school will NOT automatically be notified of this change.

請主動告知學校承辦人您已開始工作，並檢附投保證明（健保快易通App截圖或雇主出具之在職／投保證明）。 Please proactively inform the school's NHI coordinator once you start working, and attach proof of enrollment (a screenshot from the NHI Express App or a certificate issued by your employer).
若未告知，學校將無法確認您的投保狀態，可能影響後續健保異動的辦理。 If you do not inform us, the school cannot verify your enrollment status, which may delay any future changes to your NHI.

我從打工的公司離職後，健保會自動轉回學校嗎？

After I resign from my part-time job, will my NHI automatically transfer back to the school?

離職後，健保並不會自動轉回學校投保。若雇主未及時辦理退保，或您未主動告知學校，將會產生健保空窗期，影響您的就醫權益。

After resignation, your NHI does NOT automatically transfer back to the school. If your employer does not process the de-enrollment in time, or if you do not notify the school yourself, you may experience a gap in NHI coverage that affects your access to medical care.

請於離職後儘速填寫「健保投保異動申請表」，並檢附投保證明（健保快易通App截圖或原雇主出具之離職證明），交由學校承辦人辦理轉入。 Please complete the "NHI Enrollment Change Application Form" as soon as possible after resigning, and attach proof (a screenshot from the NHI Express App or a resignation certificate from your former employer) so the school coordinator can process your transfer back.
在轉入完成前，如有就醫需求，請自行留意可能需自費就醫。 Before the transfer is completed, please be aware that you may need to pay out-of-pocket for any medical visits.
