Dean's Words
Welcome to the Office of
International Affairs (OIA)! OIA was established in 2009 to respond to the
needs of a growing number of international students. OIA
aims to improve the visibility of STUST by offering services to international
students and scholars to minimize the difficulties they may experience both
upon arrival and later during their stay at STUST. OIA has become a vibrant
place for the multiple services including:
The provision of information
on a wide range of topics, including immigration issues (work permits, travel),
financial questions, resources at STUST and in the community, and adjustment to
life in Taiwan through many extracurricular activities to promote cross-cultural
learning;
The recruitment of international
students, scholars, and practitioners as well as the management of research collaborations,
joint academic programs, and student exchanges;
The organization and
management of English-taught programs with cutting-edge curricula to advance and
internationalize education in STUST.
Through the years, the OIA has championed innovative cross-cultural
interactions through teaching, learning and outreach, collaborates with
international constituencies, and advances new knowledge to integrate and
elevate a globally engaged STUST. We warmly welcome you, whether you are an
international student considering studying STUST, a domestic student aiming to
study abroad, or an institution seeking an international partnership to join us.
We are looking forward to partnering with you on advancing STUST’s
global engagement at home and around the world.
Sincerely, Te-Kuang, Chou
