List below are briefly overview of top three popular programs:

1. Excutive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA):

The EMBA (Executive Master of Business Administration) program is established to:

  1.  Offer MBA skills to working professionals seeking up-to-date knowledge in business management.
We aim to equip experienced working personnel with executive business and management knowledge as well as the capability to independently analyze and solve problems in diverse business environments.
  2. Visualize COB’s featuring emphasis on business practice and academic-industry cooperation.
  3. Follow STUT’s overall development plan to expand the variety of research studies.

Equal emphases are placed on the five major aspects of managerial studies: production & operation, marketing, human resource, R&D, and finance. Moreover, courses on liberal arts and global perspectives are added to make the curricula more multidimensional.

Our EMBA students are experienced business professionals from diverse industries. Here they will enjoy the great opportunity to learn from different fields and to expand relationships.

2. Gloal Masters of Business Administration (GMBA):

To keep up with the trend of business globalisation, the Global Master of Business Administration (GMBA) emphasises on the nurturing of professionals in the globalised business management field. All the courses are conducted in English. The main goal is to

  1. Educate the students who are leaders or talents in different fields to possess the international communication abilities.

  2. Input diverse wide-range knowledge of business and management to study and discuss various types of business related topics and subjects.

  3. To provide the students to grow the leadership characteristics and ethics.
On the basis of this framework, the courses are designed by integrating the knowledge about business and management from a diverse and wide-range aspect instead of a focused and narrow-range course structure. We are practical oriented and stress on case study and analyses. Also, the international students from countries around the world study at GMBA program together enhance the exchanges and communications in a global manner; this advances the experience sharing activities on business running and management in different levels.

3. Electrical Engineering (EE):

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology was established in 1969. Presently there are 37 faculty members actively engaging in research and teaching in three fields of expertise: Control and IC, Power and Information, Biomedical Electronics.  As of June 2007,the enrollment of EE department was 1101, including 989 in the undergraduate program and 112 in the graduate program. STUST EE Department is offering programs which award BS, MS, and Doctoral degrees.

According to a May 2007 issue of Evaluation, a bimonthly publication dedicated to evaluation and accreditation of higher education in Taiwan, in a survey based on the data from ISI web of Science from 2002 to 2006, STUST’s EE Department ranked 15th on both “total number of papers”and “total number of citations”categories among all Electrical Engineering Departments in Taiwan. Since 2000, STUST’s EE Department constantly ranked among the top EE Departments of private universities in the number of research grants from the National Science Council of Taiwan.

In 2006, our undergraduate program was accredited by IEET(Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan), the Taiwanese counterpart of ABET, which is also a Signatory of the Washington Accord. Our graduate program was accredited by the same institution in 2008.

Program Description

In August 2007, STUST’s EE Department extended the warmest welcome to students from around the globe and started the international master’s program. It is our hope that this program will play a vital role, not only on the STUST campus, but also in the regional cooperation throughout Asia and beyond.
